A lot has happened the past week. As I said, E and I went to the bridal fair. Second, I met with my church stylist and florist, Serge Igonia. Third, I finally settled my two-week dilemma on catering and food (will write about this next time).
Meeting Serge was so refreshing. It’s like making chika to a tito you never had. For obvious reasons, I was not able to meet with a lot of the suppliers we have booked. We just transacted over email, Viber and phone call—that was it. So meeting Serge sent a surge (pun intended) of excitement to the restless bride like me.
He clearly knows a lot about flowers. And because I was so makulit, I was showing him lots of pegs of the flowers and colors I liked. As if that is not enough, I would ask him to identify each flower. Hahaha! It was funny, there was this one bouquet I was pertaining to that looks very nice, clean, crisp and simple—I thought they were just a bunch of asters. I was so shocked to hear that they were really imported flowers that just looked like asters but were actually 200 pesos per strand. Exaj!!
So, because of him, I came to know that I really gravitate towards roses, hydrangea and carnations—lots of it.
He spent around an hour and a half with me, showing me pegs and his work. We were detailing what I wanted for a church and the flowers for our entourage.
I also inquired about his rates for reception styling and the detail it would entail. (Separate story on how and why I came to look for a stylist). In the end, I felt really good about our meeting. I was left with no apprehensions with regard to the church and the flowers.
I cannot wait until that church door opens for me and I see the beautiful arrangements he’s done for us.
